The
federal and BC governments are in the process of determining
whether or not to lift the moratoria that have prevented
drilling for oil and natural gas since 1972. It is believed
that there are a number of basins of oil and natural gas
that can be tapped.
To
some, the development of British Columbia’s offshore
oil and gas industry represents a much need lift to the
provincial economy. For others, it is seen as the precursor
to the destruction of its rich coastal environment.
It’s
up to you decide- Is it good or bad for BC?
This
website features a comprehensive Who, What, When, and Where
on all the province’s offshore operations and their
potential as well as a balanced presentation of the pros
and cons of offshore drilling in BC.
